Course Title: Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Development

Course Description:

If you are and have been an LE Firearms Instructor for any amount of time, there are two things you might realize. 1) YOU, The INSTRUCTOR, don't get to shoot a lot anymore... You're teaching, and 2) You are probably not getting ongoing, advanced instructor-level training. Many times you here "oh you already went to Firearms Instructor Class, so you don't need further training."

BOTH ARE WRONG.
This comprehensive workshop is designed for current law enforcement firearms instructors seeking to enhance their instructional effectiveness, refine shooting performance, and elevate training standards within their agencies. The course focuses on identifying and correcting common instructional deficiencies observed nationwide, while reinforcing the core fundamentals that underpin safe, consistent, and effective firearms use.

Participants will revisit essential marksmanship principles, including grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and follow-through, with an emphasis on diagnosing shooter errors and applying corrective coaching techniques. Building on this foundation, the workshop introduces methods to improve both speed and accuracy through structured drills and performance-based training.

The course also addresses advanced skill development, including shooting on the move, engaging targets from various positions, and operating effectively under realistic stress conditions. Instructors will learn how to design and implement stress-inducing scenarios that safely replicate real-world encounters, enhancing officer readiness and decision-making.

A key component of the workshop is the development and evaluation of agency-specific training standards. Participants will explore best practices for establishing measurable performance benchmarks, maintaining accountability, and ensuring consistency across training programs.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will be equipped with practical tools, updated methodologies, and a deeper understanding of how to deliver high-quality firearms instruction that improves officer performance, safety, and confidence in the field.
